Inspired by old school gameplay, Helena The 3rd is an action platformer where you pilot a jumping tank, all the while exploring underground caverns and battling hostile robotic enemies. Occasionally you'll need to leave your vehicle to explore rooms you can only get to on foot. Gameplay switches from 3rd person to FPS as you search for the powerful upgrades you'll need to reach new areas.

I've been enjoying this game

8

I've been enjoying this game QUITE a lot. The platforming is challenging, the exploration is surprisingly engaging, and the level design is, for the most part, well done. The cycling from full 3D to side-scrolling does a good job of breaking up the action as well. Another plus is the music, which provides a good backdrop for the environments, and is pleasant to listen to.

Unfortunately, the game is held back slightly by bad menus, confusing save behaviour, some occasionally poor camera handling, and largely terrible graphics (the textures are mostly blurry messes even at a fair distance).

However, in my opinion the game is probably worth much more than the minimum price of 1$, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in action-adventure-exploration games, as this is a great pick-up-and-play title.
