INACTIVE/CANCELLED - Game is unfinished and will no longer be receiving updates.
Pay What You Want
For PC, Mac

INACTIVE as of Sept 18th

This project is about 6 months behind it's original planned release thanks to family illness's, hardware failures and the move from an office full of people back to a single indie in his bedroom. It also suffered extensively from a full hardware lockup crash in Unity that would take up to a week to get the project back into a state that wouldn't lock the machine up on save. An attempt to port the game to HaxePunk was aborted when it proved impossible to get a decent frame rate on either my PC Laptop or Mac Mini (both around 6 years old and in a better state than my PC desktop which crashes dozens of times a day) despite running at 60fps solid on an iPod 4g and an Xperia Play. As a result I returned to the Unity version and continued the planeed updates for 0.9.3 but the Unity hard lock asset bug had returned and I really don't want to spend a frustrating 3-6 days fixing it right now.

EARLY ADOPTORS
I really can't thank the people who bought the game enough they gave me enough confidence to continue with the project after it attracted some hate on a few gaming blogs and as a thank you not only will you get a copy of 1D Sports when/if it returns from the work in progress pile but I'm going to make sure you get a copy of my next PC/Mac game when it's released.

PRICE
The beta of this game is being reduced from a minimum of $1 to a minimum of Zilch so people can marvel at what I managed to produce in a terrible and turbulous 6 month period that included several childhood illness's, multiple strokes, a heart operation, a potentially autistic toddler bouncing off the walls and driving his mother up them and an autistic teen growing about 6 inches and taking the first of his GCSE's at 14 all while changing the entire structure of a company. When you look at it like that it's a wonder any code got written at all.

ENJOY
What exists so far and hopefully one day I'll get the time to turn it into what it really should have been. Any body who picks up the beta for free will get the full game for free when it's released but I'd really appreciate a few quid to help pay the bills both mine and Indievanias.

WHATS NEXT
Well I've got to create a game in about 4 weeks for my place in the GameCity tent so it's a return to my old school hardcore indie days when I was banging out 10 games a year.

The most retro game you will play today.

Taking it's cues from the 2D Sports titles of the 80's that featured button bashing and joystick waggling to destruction 1D Sports pares down the formula to it's most basic. A dot on a line.

Playing as a representative of any of the glorious nations of Red, Green or Blue in a 1D world recently discovered by science existing along side our own you compete against your buddies and the whole world in major events that bear a resemblance to those in our own three dimensional world but only exist in a single plane.

BETA.
This is an open paid beta to help us improve the game before it's forthcoming release.

We need as many players as possible so we can balance the game to make it as fun as possible when everyone else arrives.

This is a pay what you like beta with a minimum price of $1. Paying $1 gets you access to all updates released through this site. Paying just $2.99 (the expected retail price) will mean we send you keys for the big portals that give developers keys if we get accepted to them. Paying $5 or more will get you on the credits screen as a supporter of indie games.
