I don't know if this is explained anywhere on the site, but I was wondering if there's any kind of screening process for new games? Whether there's some kind of 'minimum quality requirement' of sorts? I'm looking into uploading my first game some time next week, but I want to make sure it's of the right 'standard'.

One important reason that Indievania was started was to allow any game developer to sell their game - there is no selection process it just has to meet the criteria of being a game and not being inappropriate. But what gets 'featured' on the front page and the rss/twitter feeds will be 'featured' content and promotions. The promotions system is still being worked on, but it's important that while we allow any game on the site we have to make sure quality content is shown to visitors/followers

I agree. But there is a caveat here: the same games should not be featured all the time and the "featured list" must not be derived from the biggest rating/sales but be hand picked. The reason for the latter is that if you use the rating/sales you will bias against newer titles and even create a focus window where only the "top " games are visible. If automatic generation of the list must be done (which might be desired by the indievania staff if there aren't many people around to take care of the list) then the title's "age" in the catalog must be taken in account so that the longest it is around, the lower the rating for the list is (sorting the games by something like rating*sales/age might be a start...).
