Hi,
I already asked this per contact form, but nobody answered, so I try it here.
On the "About Indievania" page the following is written: "The payment goes directly to the developer's PayPal. Indievania use's Paypal's microtransaction features, meaning PayPal fees are only 5% + $0.05 USD, allowing developers to sell very low priced games (as low as $0.99) and retain high profits."
Now I got money from three purchases, but they fee was 1.9% + €0.35, which of course is a lot more with a price of just €2.49 - so where can I change this the advertized 5% + $0.05? :) I'm in Germany, BTW; I guess this matters.
Regards,
Friedrich (Rat King Entertainment)

I just noticed the same
I just noticed the same problem. I am looking into it - I will let you know when I resolve it. I believe will be related to a setting in your PayPal account, not here. Paypal has two fee types. The default is cheaper for sales over $10, so I hear.
Ok, here is what you do: 1.
Ok, here is what you do:
1. If you have a personal account, upgrade to a business account (free, at least).
2. Go to https://micropayments.paypal-labs.com/
3. Click "Sign up" (Doesn't work in Chrome - I used Firefox)
4. Log in
5. ????? for up to two days, then ????
There don't seem to be any payment settings in the PayPal dashboard, so I don't know how you can see whether it has been set up without watching them skim 30% off the top of a few more small transactions.
I will let you know if anything happens. I hate PayPal.
Edit: I should mention, if you are also using PayPal to receive larger payments from other vendors (WebOS, for example), you should set up two accounts - one for expected payments over $12 and one for single sales under $12.
I already found this
I already found this paypal-labs.com page ... but it says "10% + €0.10" for Germany, which is a bummer ...

Oh, and the "10% + €0.10" are only for Europe. I guess for payments outside of Europe it's "1.9% + $0.35" again ... :(
That's too bad. :(

We will have to look into
We will have to look into this more, we didn't realize how the fees were different for European countries. I am not sure what we could do on our end in terms of how we use Paypal, but I'll contact them and see what our options are.
I hope to add as many payment options as possible (Amazon / Google / even BitCoin) but right now the focus is on getting out of beta and launching, so hopefully more payment options will be added soon after launch.
Thanks,
